Chicken Seekh Kebab Masala

Ingredients:

For the Chicken Seekh Kebabs:

  • 500g ground chicken
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onions
  • 2 tablespoons ginger-garlic paste
  • 2 tablespoons besan (gram flour)
  • 1 tablespoon garam masala
  • 1 tablespoon red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves, chopped
  • Skewers for grilling

For the Masala:

  • 2 tablespoons oil or ghee
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, pureed
  • 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Cooking Steps:

Step 1: In a bowl, mix ground chicken, chopped onions, ginger-garlic paste, besan, garam masala, red chili powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, salt, and chopped coriander leaves. Knead the mixture well.

Step 2: Take small portions of the chicken mixture and mold them onto skewers to form seekh kebabs.

Step 3: Grill the chicken seekh kebabs until fully cooked and have a nice char. Set aside.

Step 4: In a pan, heat oil or ghee. Add finely chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.

Step 5: Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté until the raw aroma disappears.

Step 6: Stir in turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, red chili powder, and garam masala. Cook the masala until the oil starts to separate.

Step 7: Pour in the pureed tomatoes and cook until the masala thickens.

Step 8: Add salt to taste and place the grilled chicken seekh kebabs into the masala. Simmer for a few minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

Step 9: Garnish with fresh coriander leaves before serving.

Serve the Chicken Seekh Kebab Masala with naan or rice for a delightful meal that's a perfect blend of smoky kebabs and aromatic masala.
