Ingredients:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1/4 cup dark rum
  • 1/2 cup pitted prunes, soaked in rum
  • Pinch of salt
  • Butter for greasing

Cooking Steps:

Step 1: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a baking dish generously with butter.

Step 2: In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, and a pinch of salt.

Step 3: In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs thoroughly. Gradually add the flour mixture, ensuring a smooth batter.

Step 7: Pour the batter over the prunes, ensuring an even distribution.

Step 8: Bake in the preheated oven for about 40-45 minutes or until the top develops a golden brown hue, and the center sets.

Step 9: Allow the Far Breton Cake to cool before slicing. This cake is traditionally served at room temperature.
