Zebra Cake: With Two-tone Stripes, Soft and Truly Delicious
Ingredients:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 3 tablespoons cocoa powder
- Pinch of salt
Cooking Steps:
Step 1: Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a round cake pan.
Step 2: In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Step 3: Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
Step 4: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and a pinch of salt.
Step 5: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with milk. Mix until just combined.
Step 6: Divide the batter in half. In one half, mix in cocoa powder to create a chocolate batter.
Step 7: To create the zebra pattern, spoon a dollop of the plain batter into the center of the cake pan. On top of that, add a dollop of chocolate batter. Continue alternating until the pan is filled.
Step 8: Use a knife to create swirls and patterns in the batter, creating the zebra stripes.
Step 9: Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
Step 10: Allow the Zebra Cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
Slice and enjoy this visually stunning and delicious Zebra Cake for a delightful treat that's as fun to make as it is to eat!
