Ingredients:

  1. 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  2. 1 cup granulated sugar
  3. 2 large eggs
  4. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  5. 2 cups all-purpose flour
  6. 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  7. 1/4 teaspoon salt
  8. 1 cup chocolate chips or chunks (optional)

Instructions:

Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 2: In a large bowl, combine the melted butter and granulated sugar. Mix until well combined.

Step 3: Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.

Step 4: Stir in the vanilla extract.

Step 5: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.

Step 6: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.

Step 7: If using, fold in the chocolate chips or chunks.

Step 8: Drop rounded tablespoons of cookie dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving some space between each.

Step 9: Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are golden but the centers are still soft.

Step 10: Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
