Miniature Kitkat Cake

Ingredients:

  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup whole milk
  • Miniature KITKAT bars (enough to line the perimeter of the cake)

Steps:

Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour a miniature cake pan.

Step 2: In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.

Step 3: In a separate large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

Step 4: Beat in the eggs, one at a time, and then stir in the vanilla extract.

Step 5: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.

Step 6: Pour half of the batter into the prepared cake pan. Arrange miniature KITKAT bars along the perimeter of the batter, pressing them gently into the batter.

Step 7: Pour the remaining batter over the KITKAT layer, ensuring it's evenly distributed.

Step 8: Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Step 9: Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
