Chilli Garlic Red Chutney

Chilli Garlic Red Chutney

Ingredients:

  1. 10-12 dried red chilies (adjust according to spice preference)
  2. 8-10 garlic cloves, peeled
  3. 1 tsp cumin seeds
  4. 1 tbsp tamarind paste
  5. Salt to taste
  6. 1-2 tbsp oil (for tempering)
  7. Water (as needed)

Steps:

Step 1: Prepare the Ingredients Remove the stems from dried red chilies and soak them in warm water for about 15-20 minutes. Drain the water.

Step 2: Blend Ingredients In a blender or food processor, combine soaked red chilies, peeled garlic cloves, cumin seeds, tamarind paste, and salt. Blend until you get a smooth paste. Add water if needed to facilitate blending.

Step 3: Temper the Chutney In a small pan, heat oil. Add the blended chutney to the pan and cook on low heat for a couple of minutes. This helps to reduce the raw taste of garlic and intensifies the flavors.

Step 4: Adjust Seasoning Taste the chutney and adjust salt or spice level according to your preference. You can add a bit more tamarind paste if you prefer a tangier flavor.

Step 5: Cool and Store Let the Chilli Garlic Red Chutney cool down before transferring it to a clean, airtight jar. Store in the refrigerator for an extended shelf life.

Step 6: Serve and Enjoy Serve this fiery Chilli Garlic Red Chutney as a spicy dip with snacks, a side condiment for meals, or as a flavorful marinade for grilled dishes.
