Here's a simple and delicious recipe for what many consider to be the best bean dip:

Ingredients:

  1. 1 can (15 oz) black beans, drained and rinsed
  2. 1 can (15 oz) pinto beans, drained and rinsed
  3. 1 cup salsa (choose your preferred level of spiciness)
  4. 1 cup shredded cheddar or Mexican blend cheese
  5. 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  6. 1 teaspoon chili powder
  7. 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  8. 1/4 teaspoon salt
  9. 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  10. 1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro (optional, for garnish)
  11. 1/4 cup chopped green onions (optional, for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. In a food processor, combine the black beans, pinto beans, salsa, shredded cheese, ground cumin, chili powder, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper.
  2. Pulse the mixture until it reaches your desired consistency. You can go for a smooth dip or leave it slightly chunky.
  3. Transfer the bean dip to a serving bowl.
  4. If desired, garnish the bean dip with chopped cilantro and green onions.
