Delicious Brown Pudding


  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Whipped cream or vanilla ice cream for serving (optional)


Step 1: In a bowl, whisk together brown sugar, flour, and salt until well combined.

Step 2: In a saucepan over medium heat, warm the milk until it's just about to simmer.

Step 3: Gradually whisk the dry ingredients into the milk, stirring continuously to avoid lumps.

Step 4: Continue cooking and stirring until the mixture thickens to a pudding-like consistency.

Step 5: Once thickened, remove the saucepan from heat. Add unsalted butter and vanilla extract, stirring until the butter is melted and the pudding is smooth.

Step 6: Pour the brown pudding into serving dishes.

Step 7: Allow the pudding to cool slightly before placing it in the refrigerator to chill for at least 1-2 hours.
