Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons Earl Grey tea leaves (from tea bags or loose tea)
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Optional: Additional tea leaves for garnish

Cooking Steps:

Step 1: Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Step 2: In a food processor or using a mortar and pestle, finely grind the Earl Grey tea leaves.

Step 3: In a bowl, whisk together flour, ground Earl Grey tea leaves, baking powder, and salt.

Step 4: In a separate large bowl, cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.

Step 5: Add vanilla extract to the butter-sugar mixture and mix well.

Step 6: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.

Step 7: Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough and roll them into balls. Place them on the prepared baking sheet.

Step 9: Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.

Step 10: Allow the Earl Grey Cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
