Ramen Noodles
Ingredients:
For the Broth:
- Chicken or vegetable broth (4 cups)
- Soy sauce (2 tablespoons)
- Mirin (1 tablespoon)
- Sesame oil (1 teaspoon)
- Ginger (1-inch piece, sliced)
- Garlic (2 cloves, minced)
- Optional: Dried seaweed, bonito flakes, or miso paste for additional flavor
For the Noodles and Toppings:
- Ramen noodles (2 packs, cooked according to package instructions)
- Protein of choice (sliced cooked chicken, pork, tofu, or a boiled egg)
- Sliced green onions
- Bean sprouts
- Nori sheets (seaweed), shredded
- Sesame seeds
- Chili oil or Sriracha (optional for spice)
Preparation Steps:
Broth:
- In a pot, combine chicken or vegetable broth, soy sauce, mirin, sesame oil, ginger, and garlic.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer. If using miso paste, add it at this stage.
- Let the broth simmer for 15-20 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld. Adjust seasoning if needed.
Noodles and Toppings:
- Cook the Ramen noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- In serving bowls, place the cooked noodles.
- Arrange your choice of protein (sliced cooked chicken, pork, tofu, or boiled egg) on top of the noodles.
- Pour the hot broth over the noodles and toppings.
- Add sliced green onions, bean sprouts, shredded nori sheets, sesame seeds, and a drizzle of chili oil or Sriracha for added spice.
- Serve immediately and enjoy the comforting bowl of Ramen noodles.
