Ramen Noodles

Ingredients:

For the Broth:

  1. Chicken or vegetable broth (4 cups)
  2. Soy sauce (2 tablespoons)
  3. Mirin (1 tablespoon)
  4. Sesame oil (1 teaspoon)
  5. Ginger (1-inch piece, sliced)
  6. Garlic (2 cloves, minced)
  7. Optional: Dried seaweed, bonito flakes, or miso paste for additional flavor

For the Noodles and Toppings:

  1. Ramen noodles (2 packs, cooked according to package instructions)
  2. Protein of choice (sliced cooked chicken, pork, tofu, or a boiled egg)
  3. Sliced green onions
  4. Bean sprouts
  5. Nori sheets (seaweed), shredded
  6. Sesame seeds
  7. Chili oil or Sriracha (optional for spice)

Preparation Steps:

Broth:

  1. In a pot, combine chicken or vegetable broth, soy sauce, mirin, sesame oil, ginger, and garlic.
  2. Bring the mixture to a simmer. If using miso paste, add it at this stage.
  3. Let the broth simmer for 15-20 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld. Adjust seasoning if needed.

Noodles and Toppings:

  1. Cook the Ramen noodles according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In serving bowls, place the cooked noodles.
  3. Arrange your choice of protein (sliced cooked chicken, pork, tofu, or boiled egg) on top of the noodles.
  4. Pour the hot broth over the noodles and toppings.
  5. Add sliced green onions, bean sprouts, shredded nori sheets, sesame seeds, and a drizzle of chili oil or Sriracha for added spice.
  6. Serve immediately and enjoy the comforting bowl of Ramen noodles.
