Strawberry Tiramisu

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • 1/2 cup sugar (divided)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 8 ounces mascarpone cheese
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Ladyfinger cookies
  • Strawberry liqueur or strawberry syrup (optional)
  • Cocoa powder for dusting (optional)

Assembling Steps:

Step 1: In a bowl, combine sliced strawberries with half of the sugar. Let them macerate for about 15-20 minutes to release their juices.

Step 2: In another bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form.

Step 3: In a separate bowl, blend the mascarpone cheese, vanilla extract, and the remaining sugar until smooth.

Step 4: Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until well combined.

Step 5: If using, dip each ladyfinger into strawberry liqueur or syrup and layer them at the bottom of a serving dish.

Step 6: Spread a portion of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers.

Step 7: Add a layer of macerated strawberries.

Step 8: Repeat the layers until you reach the top of the dish, finishing with a layer of mascarpone mixture.

Step 9: Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight to allow the flavors to meld.

Step 10: Before serving, garnish the Strawberry "Tiramisu" with fresh strawberries and dust with cocoa powder if desired.
