Sour Cream & Onion Potato Bake

Ingredients:

  • 4 large potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 large onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 2 teaspoons onion powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped chives for garnish (optional)

Cooking Steps:

Step 1: Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).

Step 2: Grease a baking dish and layer half of the thinly sliced potatoes on the bottom.

Step 3: In a bowl, mix sour cream, melted butter, onion powder, salt, and pepper.

Step 4: Spread half of the sour cream mixture over the first layer of potatoes.

Step 5: Add a layer of thinly sliced onions and sprinkle with shredded cheese.

Step 6: Repeat the layers with the remaining potatoes, sour cream mixture, onions, and cheese.

Step 7: Cover the baking dish with foil and bake for 40-45 minutes. Then, uncover and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes until the top is golden brown and the potatoes are tender.

Step 8: Garnish with chopped chives if desired.
