Fruit Sando

Fruit Sando

Ingredients:

  • 8 slices of shokupan (Japanese milk bread) or soft white bread
  • 1 cup whipped cream
  • Assorted fruits (e.g., strawberries, kiwi, mango, pineapple, grapes)
  • Honey or fruit jam (optional, for extra sweetness)

Assembly Steps:

Step 1: If using shokupan or Japanese milk bread, lightly toast the slices to enhance their flavor and texture.

Step 2: Wash and prepare the fruits. Slice them into thin, uniform pieces for easy layering.

Step 3: Whip the cream until stiff peaks form.

Step 4: Lay out four slices of bread and spread a generous layer of whipped cream over each slice.

Step 5: Arrange the sliced fruits on top of the whipped cream, creating an even layer.

Step 6: Optionally, drizzle honey or spread a thin layer of fruit jam on the remaining four slices of bread for added sweetness.

Step 7: Place the honey or jam side down over the fruit layer, creating a sandwich.

Step 8: Gently press the sandwiches together and trim the edges if desired for a clean look.

Step 9: Chill the Fruit Sando in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

Step 10: Once chilled, slice the Fruit Sando into individual portions and serve.

Enjoy the delightful combination of soft bread, luscious whipped cream, and vibrant fruits in this charming Japanese-inspired Fruit Sando. It's a treat for the eyes and a burst of sweetness for the taste buds!
