Homemade Marzipan: The Mix for Your Christmas Sweets
Marzipan is a delightful treat perfect for the holiday season. Made from almonds, sugar, and a touch of honey, this sweet almond paste is incredibly versatile and can be used to create a variety of Christmas sweets. Whether you're making marzipan fruits, decorations, or simply enjoying it as is, this homemade recipe will ensure your marzipan is fresh and flavorful.
Ingredients
- 250g peeled almonds
- 100g sugar
- 20g honey
- 30ml water
- Powdered sugar to taste
Method
- Pour the sugar, honey, and water into a saucepan. Place on the stove, stirring continuously until completely dissolved, and leave to cool slightly.
- Finely chop the almonds using a mixer.
- Pour the chopped almonds and the now lukewarm syrup into a large bowl.
- Mix with a spoon until you obtain a workable paste.
- Transfer the paste to the work surface and continue kneading with the help of a handful of sifted powdered sugar. You should obtain a firm but workable dough.
