This recipe calls for 8 large pieces of Salmon fillets, enough to serve 4 to 8 people and it is delicious. Hope you all will give this recipe a try.

Here is a recipe for Southern deep-fried salmon:

Ingredients:

  • 4 salmon fillets
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup hot sauce
  • Vegetable oil, for frying

Instructions:

  1. Rinse and pat dry the salmon fillets. Cut into bite-sized pieces, if desired.
  2. In a shallow dish, mix together the flour, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.
  3. In another shallow dish, whisk together the buttermilk, egg, and hot sauce.
  4. Dip each salmon fillet into the flour mixture, shaking off any excess, then dip it into the buttermilk mixture, coating it well.
  5. Return the salmon fillet to the flour mixture, coating it well on both sides.
  6. Heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil in a large, deep skillet over medium-high heat until hot but not smoking.
  7. Add the salmon fillets to the hot oil, being careful not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for 3-4 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crispy.
  8. Remove the salmon fillets from the oil with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
  9. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
