Batter Mixture:

  • 1 1/2 cup All Purpose Flour - 9 pesos
  • 1/2 cup Cornstarch - 3 pesos
  • 1 egg - 5.5 pesos
  • 1/4 tsp salt = 5 centavos
  • 1 tbsp Chicken Powder - 3 pesos
  • 1 1/4 cup water - 50 centavos

Coating Mixture:

  • 1 1/2 cup Potato Starch - 30 pesos
  • 1 tsp Chicken Powder - 1 peso
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder - 50 centavos
  • 1/2 tsp white pepper - 50 centavos
  • Cooking Oil - 30 pesos
  • 2 Tali Kangkong - 30 pesos

Kangkong, also known as water spinach, is a delicious and nutritious vegetable that can be made into a crispy and flavorful snack. Here's a recipe for Kangkong chips:

Ingredients:

  • 1 bunch kangkong (water spinach)
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup cold water
  • Oil for frying

Instructions:

  1. Wash the kangkong and remove the leaves from the stems.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Gradually add the cold water, whisking continuously until the batter is smooth and thick.
  4. Heat the oil in a deep fryer or a heavy-bottomed pot over medium heat.
  5. Dip each kangkong leaf into the batter, making sure it is well coated.
  6. Gently shake off any excess batter and carefully place the leaf into the hot oil.
  7. Fry for 1-2 minutes or until the chips are golden brown and crispy.
  8. Use a slotted spoon to remove the chips from the oil and place them on a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil.
  9. Repeat the process with the remaining kangkong leaves until all the chips are fried.
  10. Serve the kangkong chips immediately while they are still warm and crispy.
