Stale bread cake
INGREDIENTS
- 300g stale bread 700ml (2 4/5 cups) milk 130g (9 tbsp) sugar 80g (5 tbsp) butter Lemon zest 2 eggs Pinch of salt 2 apples 50g walnuts 50g chocolate chips

METHOD
- Pour milk into a saucepan, and add the sugar, butter, and grated lemon zest. Cook until all melt.
- Cut the bread into cubes. Put it in a mixing bowl. Pour the lukewarm milk over the bread and let it rest for 15 minutes.
- When the bread has softened, mash it with a spoon until you get a creamy consistency. Add the beaten eggs, salt, apples, walnuts, and chocolate chips. Mix well.
- Pour into mold greased and covered with breadcrumbs.
- Bake at 360°F/180°C for 65 minutes. Serve.
