Pancakes stuffed with chocolate


For the batter:

  • 2 eggs
  • 30g (2 tbsp) sugar
  • 200ml (¾ cup + 1 tbsp) milk
  • 170g (1 1/4 cups) flour
  • 6g (1 1/2 tsp) baking powder
  • 5g (1 tsp) vanilla sugar
  • Vegetable oil (for greasing)

For the filling:

  • dark chocolate

For decoration:

  • Powdered sugar


  1. In a bowl whip eggs and sugar until creamy.
  2. Add milk and flour and beat until smooth.
  3. Add baking powder and vanilla powder and continue to beat for a minute.
  4. Transfer the batter into a sauceboat.
  5. Heat a greased frying pan over medium heat. Pour the batter in the shape of a square or a rectangle. Place a square of dark chocolate in the center of the pancake and cover with some more pancake batter.
  6. Cook 2-3 minutes or until you see bubbles on top, then flip over and cook on the other side for 1-2 minutes.
  7. Continue with the remaining pancake batter.
  8. Serve immediately, decorated with some icing sugar on top.
