Fruit on a stick
INGREDIENTS
- 4 apples
- 2 oranges
For the batter:
- 15g (1 tbsp) sugar
- 15g (1 tbsp) butter
- 3 eggs
- 260g (2 cups) of flour
- 60ml (1/4 cup) olive oil
- 120ml (1/2 cup) water
- a pinch of salt
- 10g (2 tsp) baking powder
For the decoration:
- chocolate (melted)
- chocolate chips
- vegetable oil (for frying)
METHOD
- In a bowl whisk sugar and butter.
- Add an egg and whisk well, then whisk in the remaining eggs.
- Pour in oil and water, and continue to whisk.
- Whisk in flour and a pinch of salt, then add baking powder.
- Slice apples and peeled oranges into 1cm thick rounds and stick them on wooden skewers.
- Dip in batter and fry in hot oil for 2-3 minutes or until golden.
- Dip one side of the cooked fruits in melted chocolate and sprinkle with chocolate chips.
- Serve and enjoy!
