Fruit on a stick

INGREDIENTS

  • 4 apples
  • 2 oranges

For the batter:

  • 15g (1 tbsp) sugar
  • 15g (1 tbsp) butter
  • 3 eggs
  • 260g (2 cups) of flour
  • 60ml (1/4 cup) olive oil
  • 120ml (1/2 cup) water
  • a pinch of salt
  • 10g (2 tsp) baking powder

For the decoration:

  • chocolate (melted)
  • chocolate chips
  • vegetable oil (for frying)

METHOD

  1. In a bowl whisk sugar and butter.
  2. Add an egg and whisk well, then whisk in the remaining eggs.
  3. Pour in oil and water, and continue to whisk.
  4. Whisk in flour and a pinch of salt, then add baking powder.
  5. Slice apples and peeled oranges into 1cm thick rounds and stick them on wooden skewers.
  6. Dip in batter and fry in hot oil for 2-3 minutes or until golden.
  7. Dip one side of the cooked fruits in melted chocolate and sprinkle with chocolate chips.
  8. Serve and enjoy!
