Coffee Scones

Ingredients

makes 10 scones

  • 300g Bread flour
  • 8g Baking powder
  • 60g Beet sugar(or Granulated sugar)
  • 80g Unsalted butter
  • 1 Egg 
  • Soy milk(or Milk)
  • Add milk so that the total of eggs and milk is 130g.
  • 8g Instant coffee
  • 50g Chocolate chips 

Directions

Preparation:

Cut the butter into 1cm cubes and cool it in the refrigerator.
Preheat the oven to 374 °F/190℃ .
①Add soy milk so that the total of eggs and soy milk is 130g and mix well.
Add Instant coffee, mix well.
②Combine the dry ingredients ()and mix together with a whisk.
③Add the Butter.
Using fingertips, rub the Butter cubes into flour mixture until mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs. Do not over do it.
④Add ① to ③ and mix .
⑤Using your palm, flatten the dough to 0.8 in thick rectangle shape.
Place chocolate chips between the dough.
⑥Cut the dough into 10 pieces.
⑦Bake it at 374 °F/190℃ for 20 min.
