Preserve garlic with vinegar and lemon

INGREDIENTS

  • 2kg garlic
  • 300 ml apple vinegar
  • 1 ½ tbsp coarse salt
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 4 thin lemon slices
  • 2 bay leaves
  • Water
  • 2 glass jars

METHOD

  1. Cut the stem of each garlic and remove most of the skin from each head.
  2. Place several heads in a bowl, cover with water, stir for several minutes and remove the drained garlic.
  3. Fill the glass jar with the garlic. Add a bay leaf to each glass jar and 2 lemon slices to each jar. Mix coarse salt, lemon salt, and vinegar until the salt dissolves.
  4. Pour into each glass jar, fill with water, and cover tightly.
