Honey Sesame Chicken Wings
We will show you how to make Honey Sesame Chicken Wings. Deep-fried chicken wings are coated with the sweet and tangy sauce. Easy and delicious appetizer to serve at any gatherings.
Ingredients:
For the Chicken Wings:
- 2 pounds chicken wings
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour for coating
- Vegetable oil for frying
For the Honey Sesame Sauce:
- 1/4 cup honey
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (toasted for extra flavor)
- Green onions, thinly sliced for garnish
Instructions:
Preparing the Chicken Wings:
- Start by washing and patting dry the chicken wings with paper towels. Season them with salt and pepper.
- In a large, shallow bowl, add the all-purpose flour. Dredge the chicken wings in the flour, making sure they are coated evenly. Shake off any excess flour.
- In a deep skillet or frying pan, heat enough vegetable oil for deep frying. The oil should be around 350-375°F (175-190°C).
- Carefully place the coated chicken wings into the hot oil in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 10-12 minutes or until the wings are golden brown and crispy.
- Remove the fried chicken wings and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.
Making the Honey Sesame Sauce:
- In a separate saucepan, combine honey, soy sauce, ketchup, sesame oil, and minced garlic. Heat over low to medium heat, stirring until the sauce is well mixed and slightly thickened. This usually takes about 5-7 minutes.
- Add the toasted sesame seeds to the sauce and stir.
Coating the Chicken Wings:
- Toss the fried chicken wings in the honey sesame sauce to coat them evenly. You can do this in a large bowl or even back in the frying pan.
- Make sure the wings are well coated with the sauce.
Serving:
- Place the Honey Sesame Chicken Wings on a serving platter.
- Garnish with thinly sliced green onions for a fresh and colorful touch.
