Soy Granuels Matar Sabzi

INGREDIENTS
Soya Granules : 1 cup
Green peas:1/2 cup
Tomato: 1/3 cup finely chopped
Onion: 1/2 cup finely chopped
Oil: 2 tbsp
Ginger:1 tsp paste or finely chopped
Garlic:1 tsp finely chopped
Green chili:1/2 tsp paste or finely chopped
Garam masala: 1 tsp
Turmeric powder: 1/2 tsp
Red chili powder: 1 tsp or to taste
Coriander and cumin powder: 1 tbsp
Water :1/4 cup
Salt: 1 tsp or to taste

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. To Prepare Soya Granules
  2. Take a cup of soya granules in container.
  3. Add twice amount of water to granules and cook until water starts boiling.
  4. Remove the granules in a sieve and rinse thoroughly under running cold water.
  5. Squeeze the soy granules between palms to remove excess of water.
  6. To Make Soya Matar Sabji Recipe
  7. Heat oil in a non-stick pan and add finely chopped onions once the oil is hot.
  8. Saute the onions for sometime until they become translucent. Then add finely chopped tomatoes.
  9. Cook the tomatoes for 2-3 minutes till they softens. Then add green chili, ginger and garlic (finely chopped or paste).
  10. Give a stir and then add fresh or frozen green peas. Mix well and let the peas cook for 2 minutes.
  11. Now add powdered spices: red chili powder, coriander & cumin powder and turmeric powder. Mix well.
  12. Pour 1/4 cup of water and mix well with onion tomato gravy. Let the gravy simmer for a minute.
  13. Add a tsp of salt or as per your taste.
  14. Add soaked soya granules to onion tomato gravy and mix well.
  15. Cover the pan with lid and let the soy matar gets cooked nicely for atleast 2-3 minutes.
  16. Remove the lid and give a good stir to sazi. Cook until the sabji dries out. Garnish the soya matar with freshly chopped coriander.
  17. Soya matar sabji is ready to serve. Serve this sabji hot along with roti/chappati, phulka or paratha.
