Rainbow Cake For Birthday
Ingredients:
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups unsalted butter, softened
- 2 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 5 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups whole milk
- Assorted gel food coloring (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple)
Steps:
Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease and flour three 8-inch round cake pans.
Step 2: In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
Step 3: In another bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Step 4: Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
Step 5: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with the milk.
Step 6: Divide the batter evenly into six portions.
Step 7: Add gel food coloring to each portion, creating vibrant colors of the rainbow.
Step 8: Spoon each colored batter into the prepared pans, layering the colors.
Step 9: Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
