Egg Paratha for Breakfast
Ingredients:
- 2 cups whole wheat flour
- Water for kneading
- Salt to taste
- Ghee or oil for cooking
- 4 eggs
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Chopped onions, tomatoes, green chilies (optional for egg filling)
- Chopped coriander leaves for garnish
Cooking Steps:
- Prepare the Dough:
- In a bowl, combine whole wheat flour and a pinch of salt.
- Gradually add water and knead to form a smooth dough.
- Cover the dough and let it rest for about 15-20 minutes.
- Prepare Egg Filling:
- Crack the eggs into a bowl.
- Beat the eggs and season with salt and pepper.
- Optionally, add chopped onions, tomatoes, and green chilies for extra flavor.
- Make Parathas:
- Divide the dough into equal portions and roll them into balls.
- Roll out one ball into a small circle.
- Place a portion of the beaten egg mixture in the center.
- Fold the edges of the dough over the egg mixture to seal, creating a stuffed ball.
- Roll out the stuffed ball into a flat, round paratha.
- Cook Parathas:
- Heat a griddle or tawa over medium heat.
- Place the rolled paratha on the hot surface.
- Cook one side until it starts to puff up or shows small brown spots.
- Flip the paratha and cook the other side until fully cooked.
- Brush the cooked paratha with ghee or oil.
- Repeat for Remaining Dough:
- Repeat the process for the remaining dough portions.
- Serve Hot:
- Garnish the egg parathas with chopped coriander leaves.
- Serve hot with yogurt, pickle, or your favorite chutney.
