Russian Cutlets (Pork Patties)

To cook homemade cutlets following this recipe you need minced pork and oats. As a result these cutlets are rich and tender so that you can add any garnish to them.


  • Minced pork
    400 g
  • Egg
    1 pcs
  • Water
    50 ml
  • Porridge oats
    2 tbsp
  • Onion
    0,5 pcs
  • Garlic
    1 clove
  • Salt
    - to taste
  • Black pepper
    1 pinch
  • Flour
    - to taste
  • Sunflower oil
    - to taste


  • 1. In a bowl mix oats, one egg and warm water, then keep it aside for 30 minutes.
  • 2. First, peel and chop onion. Then peel garlic and press it. Garlic is up to taste. One adds it, another one doesn’t like the flavour of garlic in cutlets. I like to add just 1 clove for soft flavour.
  • 3. Then add onion and garlic to the minced meat, season with salt and pepper to taste. Knead it thoroughly.
  • 4. Mix minced meat and oats. Stir well until smooth.
  • 5. Make cutlets from the minced meat. Heat the oil in a pan and put your cutlets in it.
  • 6. Shallow fry them both sides until golden brown. In the end add a little water and cover with lid. Stew it for 5-10 minutes. If you want your cutlets to be more dietetic you can cook them in the oven instead of frying. For this, preheat the oven to 180o C, place them on the baking sheet covered with baking paper and bake them for 15-20 minutes. Our delicious and simple oats cutlets are ready! Enjoy your meal!
