Moong Dal Poori
Ingredients:
- 1 cup moong dal (split yellow lentils)
- 2 cups whole wheat flour
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
- ½ teaspoon red chili powder
- Salt to taste
- Water (for kneading)
- Oil (for deep frying)

Preparation:
Step 1: Rinse and soak moong dal in water for 2-3 hours. Drain the water.
Step 2: Grind the soaked moong dal into a coarse paste without adding much water.
Step 3: In a mixing bowl, combine the moong dal paste, whole wheat flour, cumin seeds, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt.
Step 4: Knead the mixture into a firm, smooth dough, adding water as needed.
Step 5: Divide the dough into small, golf ball-sized portions.
Step 6: Roll each portion into a small disc, ensuring an even thickness.
Step 7: Heat oil in a deep pan for frying.
Step 8: Carefully slide each poori into the hot oil and fry until they puff up and turn golden brown.
Step 9: Remove the pooris and place them on paper towels to absorb excess oil.
Step 10: Serve hot with yogurt, pickle, or your favorite side dish.
