Zebra Cake

I decided to combine the recipe of a good cake and forgotten «Zebra» technology. You will be surprised how good a combination of such different and bright tastes is – a chocolate layer, green match with a tea and more neutral white one. The whole secret of the cake is – when it is ready, wrap it in a film and leave it for a night. In the morning it will be gentle, porous and slightly moist, and look at the photo – it crumbles perfectly. Texture that you need!


Ingredients

  • Butter
    215 g
  • Sugar
    230 g
  • Egg
    4 pcs
  • Whole wheat flour
    310 g
  • Baking powder
    2 tsp
  • Milk
    85 g
  • Matcha tea
    2 tsp
  • Cocoa powder
    2 tbsp



Steps

  • 1. Combine room temperature oil (215 g) and sugar (230 g) in the cup, beat well with a mixer for about 3 minutes. Note that saying at room temperature, I meant oil that has been in warm temperature for at least a couple of hours.
  • 2. Enter eggs (4 pcs.) one by one and beat well each time. This is important because oil and protein are quite difficult to connect, and if you pour four eggs at once, you risk to connect the masses not fully, but we want a delicious dessert for tea.
  • 3. When the mass becomes homogeneous, enter the flour (310 g) and the baking powder (2 tsp). Stir well.
  • 4. Pour in the milk (85 gr.).
  • 5. Then divide the mass into three pieces on bowls. I like chocolate more – that's why I had about 2/4 + 1/4 + 1/4. Add one (2 tsp.) or cacao (2 tbsp.) to the match.
  • 6. Mix well with a silicone sponge until it is completely homogeneous.
  • 7. Any form of oil and sprinkle with flour, shake out the excess – you made a «French shirt». Gently spoon the dough layers in any order. I did as if a zig-zagi of the same color, another one poured from above.
  • 8. Do not mix the colors with a spoon, just apply layers, only so they will be distinguishable.
  • 9. The dough will pick up one and a half times, so take a little bit bigger than the dough can take. I had a «bread» 10x20 cm. Bake at 180 degrees for 30-45 minutes. It all depends on the form for baking and the layer of dough. Check with a skewer as soon as it goes dry, take out the cupcake, do not let it dry.
  • 10. Let it cool in the mold on the grill for 5 minutes, and then remove it. And wrap it in film, I wrote about it in the beginning.
  • 11. I think the cupcake will be liked by everyone and taste (or rather the combination) and color. You can experiment and, for example, pour out with strict lines (you get something like chess). I think children will like this unusual delicacy.
