I offer you a recipe for the elegant cold snack, which will be excellent for a festive table or buffet. Let’s cook pancake rolls with herring forshmak and apples. The snack is very tasty, nourishing and delicious. If you want to surprise your guests with a new unusual dish, be sure to treat them with these pancakes rolls with forshmak.

  • Herring fillet
    350 g
  • Butter
    80 g
  • Egg

  • Apple

  • 1. Boil hard chicken eggs, cool, clean from shell and ground on a large grater. Put grated eggs in deep bowl.
  • 2. Wash the apple, peel and remove the core. Grind apples on a large grater and add them to the boiled eggs.
  • 3. Remove bones from the light-salted herring fillet, cut into small cubes and add to the rest of the ingredients.
  • 4. Peel onions, cut into small cubes and add to the fish. If the onion is too bitter, pre-pour it with boiling water.
  • 5. Add softened butter and finely chopped fresh dill to the forshmak. Season the mixture with black ground pepper to taste.
  • 6. Mix the mixture thoroughly, achieving a homogeneous consistence.
  • 7. Divide the ready herring forshmak with apple into 6 parts. Put on pancake 1/6 part of forshmak, evenly distribute snack throughout pancake.
  • 8. Gently curtail the pancake with the forshmak into a tight roll. In this way let’s form all 6 preparations.
  • 9. With a sharp knife let’s cut each pancake on 6 rolls of the same size. Serve the ready dish as a cold snack, decorated with greenery.
