Chatpata Paneer Toast
Chatpata Paneer Toast is a delicious and flavorful Indian snack or appetizer made with paneer (Indian cottage cheese) and a blend of spices. It's a perfect combination of crispy bread and tangy paneer filling.
Ingredients:
- 200 grams paneer, grated or crumbled
- 4-5 slices of bread
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 small tomato, finely chopped
- 1 green chili, finely chopped (adjust according to your taste)
- 1/2 teaspoon chaat masala
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
- 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
- Salt to taste
- Butter or ghee for toasting
Instructions:
- In a mixing bowl, combine grated paneer, chopped onion, chopped tomato, and green chili.
- Add chaat masala, cumin powder, red chili powder, and salt to the paneer mixture. Mix well to combine all the ingredients.
- Heat a tawa (griddle) or a non-stick pan on medium heat.
- Take a slice of bread and spread a generous amount of the paneer mixture on one side of the bread. Make sure the mixture is evenly spread.
- Place the bread slice with the paneer mixture facing down on the heated tawa.
- Apply some butter or ghee on the other side of the bread.
- Let it cook for a couple of minutes until the bottom side turns golden brown and crispy.
- Flip the bread slice to the other side and cook until it turns golden brown and crispy as well.
- Remove the toast from the pan and repeat the process with the remaining bread slices and paneer mixture.
- Once all the toasts are ready, you can cut them into triangles or squares for serving.
- Serve the Chatpata Paneer Toast hot with ketchup, chutney, or any dip of your choice.
