Chatpata Paneer Toast

Chatpata Paneer Toast is a delicious and flavorful Indian snack or appetizer made with paneer (Indian cottage cheese) and a blend of spices. It's a perfect combination of crispy bread and tangy paneer filling.

Ingredients:

  • 200 grams paneer, grated or crumbled
  • 4-5 slices of bread
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 small tomato, finely chopped
  • 1 green chili, finely chopped (adjust according to your taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon chaat masala
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Butter or ghee for toasting

Instructions:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine grated paneer, chopped onion, chopped tomato, and green chili.
  2. Add chaat masala, cumin powder, red chili powder, and salt to the paneer mixture. Mix well to combine all the ingredients.
  3. Heat a tawa (griddle) or a non-stick pan on medium heat.
  4. Take a slice of bread and spread a generous amount of the paneer mixture on one side of the bread. Make sure the mixture is evenly spread.
  5. Place the bread slice with the paneer mixture facing down on the heated tawa.
  6. Apply some butter or ghee on the other side of the bread.
  7. Let it cook for a couple of minutes until the bottom side turns golden brown and crispy.
  8. Flip the bread slice to the other side and cook until it turns golden brown and crispy as well.
  9. Remove the toast from the pan and repeat the process with the remaining bread slices and paneer mixture.
  10. Once all the toasts are ready, you can cut them into triangles or squares for serving.
  11. Serve the Chatpata Paneer Toast hot with ketchup, chutney, or any dip of your choice.
