Ham and Cheese Stuffed Mushrooms

Stuffed with ham champignons baked under a cheese cap will conquer the hearts and stomach of your guests. Thanks to its rich taste and unique flavor, this original snack is very popular. For the recipe, choose fresh large champignons with big caps. If desired, ham can be replaced with smoked meat, boiled chicken fillet or shrimps.

Ingredients

  • Champignon
    400 g
  • Onion
    1 pcs
  • Ham
    150 g
  • Cheese
    150 g
  • Sour cream
    50 g
  • Olive oil
    50 ml
  • Dried thyme
    0.25 tsp
  • Salt
    - to taste
  • Black pepper
    - to taste



Steps

  • 1. Wash fresh champignons and peel if necessary. Gently separate the mushrooms caps from the stems and put them in a heat-resistant ware for baking, greased with vegetable oil.
  • 2. Peel onions and cut into small cubes. Put the ground vegetables in a deep frying pan with pre-heated olive oil. Stir and sautĂ©e onions on low fire until golden brown.
  • 3. Cut the stems of the champignons into small cubes and add to the browned onions. Stir and continue to fry the ingredients together until all the liquid evaporates out of the frying pan.
  • 4. When the onions and mushrooms are browned, add finely cut ham to them. Stir and continue to fry the filling on low fire for a few more minutes.
  • 5. Then add sour cream, salt and seasonings to the mixture to taste. Periodically stirring, let’s prepare a filling for champignons on a low fire for another 5 minutes.
  • 6. Fill champignons caps with a filling from onions, mushrooms and ham. It is convenient to use a coffee spoon for this purpose.
  • 7. Ground hard cheese on a small grater and put it on top of the filling.
  • 8. Send a ware with stuffed champignons to a pre-heated oven up to 180 degrees. Let’s bake the snack at a medium level for 25-30 minutes. During this time the mushrooms will decrease slightly in size and will be fully prepared, and the hard cheese will melt and brown.
  • 9. Serve stuffed champignons with ham and hard cheese in warm, decorated with fresh greenery.
