Easy Chicken Teriyaki
This easy chicken teriyaki recipe is perfect for a quick and flavorful meal. The sweet and savory teriyaki sauce pairs well with the tender and juicy chicken. Here's a simple and delicious recipe for easy chicken teriyaki:
Ingredients:
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup mirin (sweet rice wine)
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon grated ginger
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon water
- Optional toppings: sesame seeds, chopped green onions
Instructions:
- In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, mirin, honey, rice vinegar, minced garlic, and grated ginger to make the teriyaki sauce.
- Slice the chicken breasts into thin strips or bite-sized pieces.
- In a large skillet or wok, heat some oil over medium-high heat. Add the chicken and cook until browned and cooked through, about 5-6 minutes.
- Pour the teriyaki sauce over the cooked chicken in the skillet. Reduce the heat to medium and let the sauce simmer for a few minutes, allowing it to thicken slightly and coat the chicken.
- In a small bowl, mix together the cornstarch and water to make a slurry. Add the slurry to the skillet and stir well, allowing the sauce to thicken further.
- Cook for an additional minute or two until the sauce reaches the desired consistency. The sauce should be glossy and coat the chicken evenly.
- Remove from heat and let the chicken teriyaki rest for a minute or two.
- Serve the chicken teriyaki over steamed rice or noodles. Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions, if desired.
