Classic Jalapeno Smash Burgers


  • 1 to 2 Pounds 80/20 Beef

Pickled sliced Jalapeños (JAR Jalapeño)

  • 1 White Onion, sliced
  • Colby Jack Cheese, slices
  • Hamburger Buns
  • Butter, unsalted
  • Creole Seasoning, to Taste


  1. Directions
    •Form hamburgers meat into balls.
  2. Heat skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Melt butter on skillet and toast buns and set aside when toasted.
  4. Thinly slice one onion and sauté with butter along with pickled jalapeño peppers, set aside.
  5. Melt small bits of butter in skillet. Place meat balls into skillet, Using a spatula or burger press, smash the patties and hold for a few seconds to get a nice crust on the bottom side. Season with Creole Seasoning. Continue to cook for 2-3 minutes.
  6. Flip patties and add cheese. Cook until cheese is melted. Add patties to buttom buns, top burgers with onions, and jalapeño slices...add bbq sauce and enjoy!
