American Vs. Japanese: Pancakes
BUTTERMILK PANCAKES
Servings: 8 pancakes
INGREDIENTS
2 cups flour
¼ cup sugar
½ tablespoon salt
¼ tablespoon ground cinnamon
½ teaspoon baking powder
¼ tablespoon baking soda
2 eggs
8 tablespoons butter Maple syrup, to serve Berries, to serve
PREPARATION
In a bowl, mix the flour, sugar, salt, cinnamon, baking powder, baking soda, eggs and melted butter until smooth.
Add 2 tablespoons of butter to a pan over medium heat.
Once the butter is melted, add ¼ cup of batter to the pan and cook for 3 minutes, or until the surface of the pancake starts to bubble.
Flip the pancake and cook for a remaining 2 minutes.
Repeat with remaining batter.
Serve with maple syrup and berries.
