Crispy Parmesan Garlic Brussel Sprouts
These flavorful Brussels sprouts make for a fantastic side dish that combines the nutty taste of roasted Brussels sprouts with the savory goodness of Parmesan and garlic.
Ingredients:
- 1 pound Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Red pepper flakes (optional, for a bit of heat)
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions:
- Preheat Oven:
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Prepare Brussels Sprouts:
- Trim the ends of the Brussels sprouts and cut them in half.
- Toss with Olive Oil:
- In a bowl, toss the halved Brussels sprouts with olive oil, minced garlic, salt, and pepper until they are evenly coated.
- Roast in the Oven:
- Spread the Brussels sprouts in a single layer on a baking sheet.
- Roast in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until they are crispy and golden brown, stirring halfway through.
- Add Parmesan Cheese:
- Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the Brussels sprouts during the last 5-7 minutes of roasting. This will allow the cheese to melt and become golden.
- Optional: Add Red Pepper Flakes:
- If you like a bit of heat, sprinkle red pepper flakes over the Brussels sprouts before serving.
- Garnish and Serve:
- Remove the Brussels sprouts from the oven, and garnish with chopped fresh parsley.
- Serve Warm:
- Transfer the crispy Parmesan garlic Brussels sprouts to a serving dish and enjoy them warm.
