Crispy Parmesan Garlic Brussel Sprouts

These flavorful Brussels sprouts make for a fantastic side dish that combines the nutty taste of roasted Brussels sprouts with the savory goodness of Parmesan and garlic.

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Red pepper flakes (optional, for a bit of heat)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat Oven:
    • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Prepare Brussels Sprouts:
    • Trim the ends of the Brussels sprouts and cut them in half.
  3. Toss with Olive Oil:
    • In a bowl, toss the halved Brussels sprouts with olive oil, minced garlic, salt, and pepper until they are evenly coated.
  4. Roast in the Oven:
    • Spread the Brussels sprouts in a single layer on a baking sheet.
    • Roast in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until they are crispy and golden brown, stirring halfway through.
  5. Add Parmesan Cheese:
    • Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the Brussels sprouts during the last 5-7 minutes of roasting. This will allow the cheese to melt and become golden.
  6. Optional: Add Red Pepper Flakes:
    • If you like a bit of heat, sprinkle red pepper flakes over the Brussels sprouts before serving.
  7. Garnish and Serve:
    • Remove the Brussels sprouts from the oven, and garnish with chopped fresh parsley.
  8. Serve Warm:
