Grilled Shrimp Marinade

This grilled shrimp marinade is savory and garlicky with a touch of zest. The perfect marinade for your next summer BBQ.
Ingredients:
- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: Crushed red pepper flakes for a bit of heat
- Fresh parsley for garnish
Instructions:
- Prepare Shrimp:
- If the shrimp are frozen, thaw them and pat them dry with a paper towel.
- Make the Marinade:
- In a bowl, whisk together olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, paprika, dried oregano, cumin, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes if using.
- Marinate Shrimp:
- Place the cleaned shrimp in a resealable plastic bag or a bowl.
- Pour the marinade over the shrimp, ensuring they are well coated.
- Seal the bag or cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to let the flavors infuse.
- Preheat Grill:
- Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
- Skewer Shrimp (Optional):
- If using skewers, thread the marinated shrimp onto them for easy grilling.
- Grill Shrimp:
- Grill the shrimp for about 2-3 minutes per side or until they turn opaque and slightly charred.
- Serve:
- Remove the shrimp from the grill and garnish with fresh parsley.
- Serve immediately with your favorite side dishes or over a salad.
