This grilled shrimp marinade is savory and garlicky with a touch of zest. The perfect marinade for your next summer BBQ.

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: Crushed red pepper flakes for a bit of heat
  • Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Prepare Shrimp:
    • If the shrimp are frozen, thaw them and pat them dry with a paper towel.
  2. Make the Marinade:
    • In a bowl, whisk together olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, paprika, dried oregano, cumin, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes if using.
  3. Marinate Shrimp:
    • Place the cleaned shrimp in a resealable plastic bag or a bowl.
    • Pour the marinade over the shrimp, ensuring they are well coated.
    • Seal the bag or cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to let the flavors infuse.
  4. Preheat Grill:
    • Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
  5. Skewer Shrimp (Optional):
    • If using skewers, thread the marinated shrimp onto them for easy grilling.
  6. Grill Shrimp:
    • Grill the shrimp for about 2-3 minutes per side or until they turn opaque and slightly charred.
  7. Serve:
    • Remove the shrimp from the grill and garnish with fresh parsley.
    • Serve immediately with your favorite side dishes or over a salad.
