Ingredients:

  • 1 block firm tofu, sliced into steaks
  • 2 cups mushrooms, sliced (shiitake or cremini)
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 teaspoon peppercorns
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • Fresh parsley for garnish
  • Cooked rice for serving
