Yorkshire Pudding
Ingredients:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup whole milk
- 4 large eggs
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons beef drippings or vegetable oil
Steps:
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C). Place a muffin tin or a Yorkshire Pudding pan in the oven to heat.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, milk, eggs, and salt until you have a smooth batter.
- Allow the batter to rest for at least 30 minutes. This gives the flour particles time to expand and results in a lighter pudding.
- Once the oven is preheated, carefully remove the hot muffin tin or Yorkshire Pudding pan.
- Place a small amount of beef drippings or vegetable oil into each section of the tin.
- Pour the rested batter evenly into each section, filling them about halfway.
- Quickly return the tin to the oven and bake for approximately 15-20 minutes or until the puddings are puffed up and golden brown.
- Avoid opening the oven door during baking to prevent the Yorkshire Puddings from deflating.
- Once done, remove the Yorkshire Puddings from the oven and serve immediately.
- Yorkshire Puddings are traditionally served as a side dish with roast beef and gravy. They can also be enjoyed with other roast meats or as part of a Sunday roast.
Savor the crispy, fluffy goodness of Yorkshire Pudding, a quintessential British delight that adds a touch of elegance to your roast dinner.
