Yorkshire Pudding

Yorkshire Pudding

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons beef drippings or vegetable oil

Steps:

  1. Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C). Place a muffin tin or a Yorkshire Pudding pan in the oven to heat.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, milk, eggs, and salt until you have a smooth batter.
  3. Allow the batter to rest for at least 30 minutes. This gives the flour particles time to expand and results in a lighter pudding.
  4. Once the oven is preheated, carefully remove the hot muffin tin or Yorkshire Pudding pan.
  5. Place a small amount of beef drippings or vegetable oil into each section of the tin.
  6. Pour the rested batter evenly into each section, filling them about halfway.
  7. Quickly return the tin to the oven and bake for approximately 15-20 minutes or until the puddings are puffed up and golden brown.
  8. Avoid opening the oven door during baking to prevent the Yorkshire Puddings from deflating.
  9. Once done, remove the Yorkshire Puddings from the oven and serve immediately.
  10. Yorkshire Puddings are traditionally served as a side dish with roast beef and gravy. They can also be enjoyed with other roast meats or as part of a Sunday roast.

Savor the crispy, fluffy goodness of Yorkshire Pudding, a quintessential British delight that adds a touch of elegance to your roast dinner.
