Matcha & Chunky White chocolate Scones

Ingredients Makes about 9scones

  • 200g Bread flour
  • 7g Matcha
  • 6g Baking powder
  • 30g Light brown sugar
  • 50g Unsalted butter
  • 105g Cold Milk
  • 40g White chocolate

Directions

①Cut the butter into 0.4in cubes and cool in the freezer for 10 minutes.
②Combine flour, baking powder, matcha and sugar in a bowl and mix well.
③Add cold butter, using your fingers to work the butter into the dry ingredients until it resembles coarse crumbs.
④Add Cold milk, use a dough scraper or spoon to stir until combined.
***If the dough is too sticky, add flour until it is manageable.
⑤Add chocolate, and fold roughly. Put it out on the work surface.
⑥Fold it in two.
Rotate the dough and fold in two.again,repeating this step 3-4 times.
Sprinkle Bread flour to prevent the dough from sticking.
⑦Cut the dough into squares with a bench knife or sharp knife.
(Cut it into 9 equals.)
⑧Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
⑨Preheat the oven to 374 °F/190℃
Chill the dough in the freezer while the oven heats up.
⑩Bake for 16 mins until risen and until slightly browned.
