Sugar Coated Sweet Potato Sticks
Ingredients 2 servings
- 300g Japanese Sweet Potato
For coating:
- 50g Granulated sugar
- 2g Salt
- 25g Water
- Oil for cooking *I used Rice oil
Directions
①Wash sweet potatoes well.Cut into 1cm thick sticks
②Soak in water for 10 minutes to remove starch, drain, and dry well.
③Fry slowly at about 170℃ for a nice color.
④Transfer to a rack or paper towel.
⑤Empty the frying pan and clean, OR use another frying pan.
Heat Sugar,salt and Water over medium heat.
⑥After it starts to boil, the bubbles will change from large to small.
When the bubbles become small, reduce to low heat, add the fried sweet potato sticks, and coat evenly in the sauce.
*Spread them out on a tray to prevent sticking.
