Punjabi Chicken Double Masala

Ingredients:

  • 2 lbs chicken pieces (1050 kcal)
  • 2 large onions, finely chopped
  • 3 tomatoes, pureed
  • 1/4 cup yogurt
  • 2 tablespoons ginger-garlic paste
  • 1/4 cup cooking oil
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • Punjabi garam masala powder
  • Red chili powder, turmeric, and coriander powder
  • Fresh coriander leaves for garnish

Cooking Steps:

Step 1: Marinate the Chicken In a bowl, mix chicken pieces with yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, and a blend of Punjabi garam masala, red chili powder, turmeric, and coriander powder. Allow the chicken to marinate for at least 1 hour.

Step 2: Sauté Aromatics Heat cooking oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds and chopped onions. Sauté until the onions turn golden brown.

Step 3: Add Tomato Puree Introduce tomato puree to the pan and cook until the oil separates from the masala, indicating it's well-cooked.

Step 4: Integrate Marinated Chicken Transfer the marinated chicken to the pan. Stir well, ensuring the masala coats each piece evenly. Cook until the chicken is tender and cooked through.

Step 5: Double Masala Magic Sprinkle an additional layer of Punjabi garam masala over the cooked chicken for that "double masala" punch. Adjust salt and spices to taste.

Step 6: Garnish and Serve Garnish with fresh coriander leaves. Serve Punjabi Chicken Double Masala hot, paired with naan or steamed rice, to relish the authentic flavors of Punjab.

Indulge in the rich tapestry of spices and aromas that define this Punjabi culinary gem. Enjoy the Double Masala magic!
