Perfect Mont Blanc Cake
Ingredients:
For the Cake Base:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup chestnut flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup milk
For the Chestnut Cream:
- 1 cup sweetened chestnut puree
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
For Whipped Cream Topping:
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
- Shaved chocolate or cocoa powder for garnish
Cooking Steps:
Step 1: Prepare Cake Base Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease and flour a cake pan. In a bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, chestnut flour, and baking powder.
Step 2: Cream Butter and Sugar In a separate large bowl, cream together softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
Step 3: Combine Wet and Dry Ingredients Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, alternating with milk. Begin and end with the dry ingredients. Mix until just combined.
Step 4: Bake the Cake Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Allow the cake to cool completely.
Step 5: Make Chestnut Cream In a bowl, combine sweetened chestnut puree, softened butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth and creamy.
Step 6: Assemble the Cake Once the cake is completely cooled, spread the chestnut cream over the top of the cake, creating a smooth layer.
Step 7: Whip the Cream In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar until stiff peaks form. Pipe or spread the whipped cream over the chestnut cream layer.
Step 8: Garnish and Serve Garnish the Mont Blanc Cake with shaved chocolate or a dusting of cocoa powder. Slice and serve this elegant dessert to captivate your taste buds with the delightful combination of chestnut and cream.
Indulge in the sophistication of the Mont Blanc Cake, where layers of chestnut and cream come together to create a heavenly treat that's as beautiful as it is delicious.
