  • 8 oz (about 225g) cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • Red pepper flakes (to taste, optional)
  • Salt and black pepper (to taste)
  • 8 oz (about 225g) pasta of your choice
  • Fresh basil leaves, chopped, for garnish
  • Grated Parmesan cheese for serving (optional)

Step 1: Cook the pasta according to package instructions in a pot of salted boiling water. Reserve a cup of pasta water before draining.

Step 2: In a large pan, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant.

Step 3: Add the halved cherry tomatoes to the pan. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until the tomatoes soften and release their juices.

Step 4: Season the tomatoes with salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using). Stir to combine.

Step 5: Add the cooked pasta to the pan, tossing it with the tomatoes and garlic. If the mixture seems dry, add some of the reserved pasta water to reach your desired consistency.
