Walnut & Sweet roasted chestnuts Scones
Ingredients
9 servings
- 250g Bread flour
- 50g Oatmeal (Quick Oatmeal)
- 8g Baking powder
- 40g Cane sugar(or Granulated sugar)
- 2g Salt
- 70g Unsalted butter
- 30g Walnut
- 120g Sweet roasted chestnuts
- Milk 130g
- Milk(as needed)
Directions
①Dice butter into 1cm /0.4 inch. Let it in a fridge until just before you use it. Chop walnut, set aside.
②Combine the dry ingredients ()and mix together.
③Use your hands to rub the butter cubes (quickly so that the butter doesn't melt) until the mix looks like fine dry crumbs.
④Add Milk and use a dough scraper to fold it until many small lumps form.
⑤Add walnut,sweet roasted chestnuts and fold roughly.
Put it out on the work surface.
⑥Use your hands to gather the dough and press. Fold in half and press, repeat it around 4 times until the dough almost comes together.
Shape it into a square. (2.5cm/1 inch thick)
⑦Wrap it in cling wrap and let it sit in a freezer for 20 minutes. Preheat an oven to 374 °F/190℃.
⑧Cut dough into 9 pieces
Place scones on prepared tray.
⑨Brush the top with the milk.
⑩Bake for 22 minutes or until golden
