Mushroom Masala

A recipe for Mushroom Masala:
Ingredients:
- 2 cups mushrooms, sliced
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 2 tomatoes, pureed
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 teaspoon ginger-garlic paste
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
- 1/4 cup fresh cream
- Salt to taste
- Fresh coriander leaves, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions:
- Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
- Add the finely chopped onions to the pan and sauté until they turn golden brown.
- Add the ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a minute until the raw smell disappears.
- Add the tomato puree to the pan and cook for 2-3 minutes until the oil separates from the mixture.
- Add the sliced mushrooms to the pan and mix well. Cook for 5-6 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- In a small bowl, mix together the red chili powder, turmeric powder, coriander powder, and garam masala with a little water to form a paste. Add this paste to the pan and mix well.
- Reduce the heat to low, cover the pan, and let the mushrooms cook for about 10 minutes or until they are tender.
- Add fresh cream to the pan and mix well. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
- Season with salt according to taste and mix well.
- Garnish with chopped coriander leaves.
