Chocolate Blossom Cookies

Chocolate blossom cookies are a delightful treat that combines the richness of chocolate with the sweetness of a Hershey's Kiss candy. They are easy to make and perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients:

• 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
• 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
• 1 teaspoon baking soda
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
• 1 cup granulated sugar
• 1 large egg
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 2 tablespoons milk
• 1/2 cup granulated sugar (for rolling)
• About 36 Hershey's Kisses chocolates, unwrapped

Instructions:

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
3. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and 1 cup of granulated sugar until light and fluffy. You can use an electric mixer or beat by hand with a wooden spoon.
4. Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter-sugar mixture and mix until well combined.
5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk. Mix until the dough comes together.
6. Roll the dough into 1-inch balls. Roll each ball in granulated sugar to coat it evenly.
7. Place the coated dough balls on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
8. Bake in the preheated oven for about 8-10 minutes or until the edges are set. The centers may appear slightly soft, but they will firm up as the cookies cool.
9. Remove the baking sheet from the oven and immediately press an unwrapped Hershey's Kiss candy into the center of each cookie. The cookies will crack slightly around the edges, which is normal.
10. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer them to a wire rack to cool completely and allow the chocolate to set.
11. Once the cookies have cooled completely, they are ready to be enjoyed! Store them in an airtight container at room temperature.
