Caramel Lava Cake

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter (814 kcal)
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips (805 kcal)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar (774 kcal)
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour (220 kcal)
  • 1/4 cup caramel sauce (optional, 54 kcal)

Instructions:

Step 1: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease and flour individual ramekins.

Step 2: In a heatproof bowl, melt the butter and chocolate chips together. Stir until smooth.

Step 3: Add sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, and salt to the chocolate mixture. Mix well.

Step 4: Gently fold in the flour until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

Step 5: Pour the batter into the prepared ramekins, filling each halfway.

Step 6: If desired, add a spoonful of caramel sauce into the center of each ramekin.

Step 7: Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the edges are set but the center remains slightly jiggly.

Step 8: Allow the cakes to cool for a few minutes. Run a knife along the edges and invert onto plates.

Step 9: Serve immediately, and enjoy the heavenly eruption of warm caramel from the center of each cake.
