Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • A pinch of salt
  • Oil for frying

For Glaze:

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Steps:

  1. Prepare the Dough: In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Add milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Mix until a soft dough forms.
  2. Roll and Cut: Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/2 inch thickness. Cut out donut shapes using a donut cutter or two differently sized round cutters.
  3. Heat Oil: In a deep pan, heat oil to 350°F (175°C).
  4. Fry Donuts: Carefully drop donuts into the hot oil. Fry each side until golden brown, about 1-2 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels.
  5. Prepare Glaze: In a bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract to create the glaze.
  6. Dip or Drizzle: Dip each cooled donut into the glaze, ensuring even coverage. Alternatively, you can drizzle the glaze over the donuts.
