Miniature Fish Curry

Ingredients:

For the Fish Marinade:

  1. 1/2 lb small fish fillets (like tilapia or mackerel)
  2. 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
  3. 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  4. Salt to taste

For the Curry:

  1. 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  2. 1 small onion, finely chopped
  3. 2 cloves garlic, minced
  4. 1-inch ginger, grated
  5. 1 teaspoon ground coriander
  6. 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  7. 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
  8. 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
  9. 1 cup coconut milk
  10. Salt to taste
  11. Fresh cilantro for garnish

Cooking Steps:

Fish Marinade:

  1. In a bowl, combine fish fillets with turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Marinate for at least 15-20 minutes.

Curry:

  1. In a pan, heat oil over medium heat. Add chopped onions, garlic, and ginger. Sauté until onions are translucent.
  2. Add ground coriander, cumin, turmeric, and red chili powder. Cook for a minute to release the flavors.
  3. Place the marinated fish fillets in the pan and sear briefly on both sides.
  4. Pour in coconut milk, reduce heat to a simmer, and cook until the fish is cooked through.
  5. Adjust salt according to taste.
  6. Garnish with fresh cilantro.
