Miniature Fish Curry

Ingredients:
For the Fish Marinade:
- 1/2 lb small fish fillets (like tilapia or mackerel)
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon red chili powder
- Salt to taste
For the Curry:
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1-inch ginger, grated
- 1 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
- 1 cup coconut milk
- Salt to taste
- Fresh cilantro for garnish
Cooking Steps:
Fish Marinade:
- In a bowl, combine fish fillets with turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Marinate for at least 15-20 minutes.
Curry:
- In a pan, heat oil over medium heat. Add chopped onions, garlic, and ginger. Sauté until onions are translucent.
- Add ground coriander, cumin, turmeric, and red chili powder. Cook for a minute to release the flavors.
- Place the marinated fish fillets in the pan and sear briefly on both sides.
- Pour in coconut milk, reduce heat to a simmer, and cook until the fish is cooked through.
- Adjust salt according to taste.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro.
Serve these Miniature Fish Curries as appetizers or alongside steamed rice for a unique and flavorful culinary experience.
