Chocolate Custard Pudding in 10 Minutes

Chocolate Custard Pudding in 10 Minutes

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 4 large egg yolks
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 4 oz semi-sweet chocolate, finely chopped
  • Whipped cream for garnish (optional)

Steps:

Step 1: In a saucepan, heat the milk over medium heat until it simmers. In a separate bowl, whisk together sugar, cocoa powder, cornstarch, and salt.

Step 2: Gradually whisk the dry ingredients into the simmering milk, stirring constantly to avoid lumps. Continue cooking until the mixture thickens.

Step 3: In a separate bowl, whisk the egg yolks. Slowly pour a ladle of the hot milk mixture into the egg yolks while whisking continuously to temper the eggs.

Step 4: Pour the egg mixture back into the saucepan, stirring constantly. Cook over medium heat until the custard thickens to a pudding-like consistency.

Step 5: Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract. Add finely chopped chocolate, stirring until melted and smooth.

Step 6: Pour the chocolate custard into serving dishes. Cover with plastic wrap, ensuring it touches the surface of the custard to prevent a skin from forming.

Step 7: Chill in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours or until set.

Serve chilled, and optionally garnish with whipped cream for an extra touch of indulgence. Enjoy the delightful harmony of chocolate and custard in every spoonful!
